The quarterback found his wide receivers when he had to, and they came up big for him at the end.

Sid is right on and I think all the Ponder naysayers really have egg on their faces. Green Bay is worried about Adrian Peterson, but they should also be concerned that Ponder is turning into a bit of a gunslinger. That touchdown into coverage was right out of Brett Favre's book. He's a smart player who is getting smarter every week. I also think the Vikings continue to win at the line of scrimage. Bring on the playoffs! Skol Vikes!

Ponder has cleaned up his mechanics. That 64 yard bomb to Wright was nearly the same throw Ponder failed to make against the Bears a few weeks back. Except this time, Ponder delivered it perfectly. I hope he continues to progress and redeem himself at Lambeau. Skol Vikings!

The amazing thing about the Vikes beating the Packers is the way they accomplished it. If the Vikes were to win I figured it would be as it was against SF or Houston where the D dominated and AP and the O did enough to win. But this game started out that way but turned into to a shoot out which was not in the Vikes favor. Ponder's stats may have been average but there were some 4th quarter throws that Ponder made that may have took him to the next level. Hopefully from here on out the play action pass will become a major play in the Vikes aersonal and the Vikes draft and sign players accordingly.

Quote from Paul Allen this morning "We definately, without a doubt have a starting QB next year with Ponder"! Seriously? Ponder still ranked the in the very bottom tier of QB's this year. Did we forget about his 10 games of "average" to "well below average" play? This team put together a string of wins despite Ponder. So we are suppose to be happy, when Ponder plays above average 4-5 games a year? Let's not go overboard here. The Ponder selection wasn't a good pick, and from Day 1, I've said this will never be a Top 15 QB in the league. I've stood by my position since day 1. Ponder is what he is. Not a game changing QB, average or below average in terms of NFL standards.

Siouxchamp, I think you are expecting the next Aaron Rdogers or Brees in Ponder. Why do we expect him to be a game changer? For some reason I thought football was a TEAM game. He is just in his second year, has upped his game the last four weeks, and is not in the lower ranks of NFL QB's. You are obviously upset and hoping for him to fail. Keep sticking to your guns though, the negative energy should only drive Ponder more. From last year's crop: Newton, Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder, Ponder is in the playoffs while those other teams flounder. Are Flacco, Fitzpatrick, Palmer, Schaub, or Alex Smith game changers? No, but they are very solid QBs and most OC's would be happy to have any of those guys on their team. There are only a few "game changers" and one is Green Bay, and for a day, our QB came out on top. Can't we just enjoy that for a day? Thanks.

When all the naysayers pounded all over Ponder, Sid knew that down the road our QB would get the job done. There is a reason that Sid has been around for so long. He can see through the fog and recognize talent. Keep it coming Sid.

Hey all you Ponder think he is so great now kool aide drinkers. He threw one in the ground with Peterson right in front of him 5 yards away on the final drive. Just think how great this team would be, if we had a QB with an arm. Oh yeah, where is, what's his prima donna name who wore #12?

Ditto to what justincase12 wrote. Sidney Hartman, Sidney Hartman is the only sportswriter on the Strib with enough knowledge and insight to understand and predict what Ponder could do. And remember how all the other 'experts' scoffed at Sid's prediction of 8 or 9 wins this year for our beloved 'Queens? Well, once again they're forced to bow to the 'old man' and his superior knowledge. Right on, Sid. Thanks for sharing insight and knowledge rather than just opinion like we see from the other writers (notice I didn't call them reporters).

" I think you are expecting the next Aaron Rdogers or Brees in Ponder. Why do we expect him to be a game changer? For some reason I thought football was a TEAM game."---------look at the QBs for the last 10 Super Bowl winners; there are no caretaker QBs in that list. Ponder played very well yesterday, and we needed him to. Looks like he'll be around for the foreseeable future. What worries me is Ponder seems to prefer to loop passes in like a curveball pitcher.
