How can it possibly be "unsafe" to play basketball in the D-League? Instead of needing a doctor's note to take time off from school/work like the rest of humanity in America, he needs a doctor's note to go to work-- playing a game for millions of dollars. His dialogue is sounding more and more like the lame excuses of an immature grade school brat.

Thanks, Tubby. Yes, you wanted to try to help this young man, but attempting to keep this guy in your program would have been a nightmare. Sadly, his issues seem to be escalating.

Oh boy! Royce, you are fixing to throw away your winning lottery ticket. Don't blow this one man.

Playing in the NBA is a high-stress (perform now or be replaced) job which requires lots of travel. For a guy with anxiety disorder and a fear of flying, it's probably not a good career choice. Probably not a good idea for the Houston Rockets to have hired him and signed him to a guaranteed contract, either.

Hey Royce, do what is right...give the Rockets their money back and find a less stressful career field....of course the money won't be the same, but your "doctors" can tell you it will be ok

Most, even casual, basketball fans were astounded when he was selected in the first round which requires a guarantee. Maybe a team could have extended an incentive laden non guaranteed low second round pick.. Fortunately for Royce, Kevin McHale was Calling the shots. Great player, great coach, poor talent scout.

This guy is an absolute mess. I'm glad the TWolves didn't draft him.

Millions of people take anti-anxiety medications every day. It shouldn't be that hard to find one that works for him. I have some fear of flying, but I have found a couple cocktails gets me through it just fine.

"I have chosen to not play, because the doctors and I believe it to be unsafe for unqualified Rockets front office personnel to make medical decisions, as they are not mental health professionals," White said in a statement on Sunday. ---- And, there is your answer! The team does not have the proper doctors! If you don't believe in that, go see a podiatrist when you experience chest pains. You'll quickly learn what Royce is talking about. And, he does write very well. Smart guy.
