Well, it was only a matter of time. We were long past due for another global warming/greenhouse effect article. (What has it been...a whole week?) The current temp is 4 degrees. Thank God for global warming or it might be cold outside.

Glad I was alive to have lived it...it's been a great run. Here's hoping for more! However the 30yr pacific decadal oscillation is swinging and we will be due for a cool down over the coming decades unfortunately and your SUV can't stop it. It's been extremely cold once again across much of eastern Europe to Russia/Eurasia this winter. Extremely harsh. Count your blessings.

Also in 2012: For the first time since 1988 climate change didn't come up ONCE during the Presidential debates. We're so toast.

rudo1212--If you understood, you would know that current temperature has nothing to do with global warming or climate change.

"It's also virtually certain to have been the warmest for the entire country." Really? The Twin Cities has been the warmest in the whole country? Do some more research please.

"It's also virtually certain to have been the warmest for the entire country." The very, very clear subject of that sentence is the year 2012, not the Twin Cities. Do some elementary level reading please.

Funny, 5 comments, guess it's it "too cold to go outside, baby it's cold outside."

You got that right erikj3....Most politicians are clueless about climate change and aren't listening to Bill McKibben and Dr. James Hansen, yet proceed to except handouts from lobbyists that are protecting big oil and coal companys that we the tax payers subsidize, while our earth has more and more hurricanes, earthquakes, tornados, tsunami's etc...

I wonder if there's any correlation to people not understanding articles on "global warming" to not understanding "global warming".
