With a talented and deep roster, the Gophers should have their sights set on winning their first Big Ten title since 1997.

As an old Dunker, I am looking forward to the Big Ten Season, but very very guarded in my enthusiasm. I've bought tickets for a few games and hoping this is Tubby's year, or it may be another long Winter in a cold "Barn".

Pat, thanks for putting the pressure on the Tubster. As the highest paid public employee in the entire state we expect more than lame excuses (leave that to Hartman). He has the type of experienced team you should have when you cannot recruit one and done players. So, is he the right coach? We will find out this winter.

If Tubby can't win with this team, he can't win with any. Time to put up or shut up. Win or he needs to go.

It is sad that winning the big ten will still leave Tubby below .500 in the conference. He has not been what we hoped for.

Smart teams will play zone defense for most of the game and Gophs will need to knock down some 3's. Don't like our chances.

My kids are bored hearing about what it was like at the barn in 1997 or 1990 or 1982. Its time to show them. I agree with Patrick. We have the key ingredients. Why not us and why not now?

Ridiculous to expect the gophers to finish over .500 in conference much less compete for title. Come march it will be back to the NIT with a pitiful 7-11 record.

badgerfan2, your team is very offensively challenged this year and will be hard pressed to finish above .500 in the Big Ten, but if you can't see the difference between the Gophs and Badgers talent this year, you're probably downing too many cold ones. There won't be any Jordan Taylor to bail you out down the stretch. He beat the Gophs by himself last year.

Couldn't agree more, Patrick; why not the Gophers this year? This team has the same balanced makeup of the 1997 squad: good, experienced players who just meshed well, and enough depth to withstand foul trouble for any one player. If one of the guys emerges as the Bobby Jackson of 2013, we have a pretty good chance at the first title in 15 years.
