Duluth port adapts as wheat lags

Total shipments through the Twin Ports of Duluth and Superior increased 1 percent this year, thanks in part to coal and ore.

Compared to 4 years ago, the ships coming in to the Duluth entrance has dropped a lot. But Two Harbors is humming with iron ore shipments. In looking at Duluth Shipping News dot com, fewer lakers and salties are coming in, and when the shipping season ends around mid-January the place gets really quiet.
