For women everywhere, I would like to offer the following New Year's Resolutions of Things We Will Not Say in 2013:

From the article: "[T]urn 'I'm one person' into a battle cry and a cheer of encouragement." Good advice, Gina Barreca! The 19th Century saw the end of chattel slavery. The 20th Century saw the demise of totalitarianism. It's time for the Century of Women. Malala said that progress begins with educating girls.

This reads like is was written in a backyard shed with the words "NO BOYS ALLOWED" scrawled on the front. Feminism has its place; indeed, its a great thing! But often its expressions are embarrassing. This one no less.

"Feminism has it's place." Of course -- everywhere. What's wrong with being pro-women?
