I don't do either one and have no intention. Did go on Facebook but found it to be a total waste of my time and somewhat senseless. I think I have better uses of my time. Read a book.

I agree that these devices create distractions. People seem to not be able to live without that next little bit of text. But overwrought predictions of the demise of civil society are silly, too.

Yeah and it's all about work. Seems to me that what I do in my off time is my business, but since my employer seems to think I should devote all my waking time to their endeavors, I might be somewhat excused for looking at my Facebook page "on the clock". Or maybe I should be paid for all the time I spend working, not just his "clock".
