The steady decline in highway deaths has been accompanied by a steady increase in law enforcement staffing, budgets, and revenue generating activities disguised as public safety. With highwat fatalities declining, should municipal, county, and state law enforcement staffs be reduced? Truth is impaired driving is a political agenda being implemented under the rouse of public safety. Traffic citations employee large numbers og law enforcement officers at all levels, enhance resumes for these officers, and generate massive amounts of revenue for their jurisdictions. Mean while who is protecting our neighborhoods and communities from, thieves, murders, and vandals.

"Meanwhile who is protecting our neighborhoods and communities from, thieves, murders, and vandals."__________ Excellent point! If you have 3 beers on a Friday night in the suburbs there are police all over the place waiting to pull over and arrest you, while you can't find one in Minneapolis where people are murdering each other. Our priorities seem screwed up here.
