Great cartoon! If the Russians want to retaliate for US laws they should pick some area that won't ruin children's lives.
What is sad about this is that in Russia there are thousands of kids in orphanages awaiting adoption. In many cases they are virtually ignored because of small staffing and sleep two to a crib.
This is a great one!
Many of the children available for foreign adoption in Russia have handicaps and are unwanted by the Russian people. Many have fetal alcohol syndrome which is a devastating problem. Not only does it cause developmental delays but more importantly it causes SEVERE behavioral issues including violence. This is a condition which cannot be cured, it is caused by brain damage due to a mother's alcohol use in pregnancy. Support and therapy can help but the damage is already done, it is permanent. American couples, while I feel many are naive to the severity of the issue, should be commended for taking on and loving these children. Putin is an as@ for stopping these adoptions and blaming Americans for what is OBVIOUSLY a Russian problem. Is it any surprise that some of these adoptions fail? Children with fetal alcohol syndrome are among the most difficult to raise. Are we using Russian children for organ donors? WOW, what a fricking joke Do they get accidentally left in a hot car to die a horrible death. Tragically yes, just like American children. Putin, take a look in your county's mirror. This isn't an American problem, it is a Russian problem. And now you are taking away any hope at all for these most vulnerable kids. The world is watching, Putin.
