An overlooked factor in using the big screen is the plethora of remotes and tricky combinations of instructions needed to operate the big monsters with surround sound systems, DVD/Blu-Ray players, game consoles and the like attached. With an iPad, one finger does the work in a really simple way.

Telling article. People don't use computers to compute anything. No new companies formed or technologies developed on these "computers". People just watching the "boob tube" as it was once called.
