Fast vote tally in Minneapolis? Maybe not

Minneapolis will need new systems to quickly spew out ranked-choice voting results, but 2013 elections may be done the slow way.

No to "ranked choice" voting. What's wrong with primaries? No primary in Mpls last mayoral election meant there were about 10 mayoral candidates in the general election. It was next to impossible to get adequate information about all of them, there was no pointed debate.Whittle down the field in a primary so we have 2 or 3 in the general. Ranked choice voting is not all it's cracked up to be.

Way to go, Minneapolis. You were able to take something relatively simple and make it confusing, time consuming, and expensive. Good job, you should be very proud!
