Santa was last month. We're broke. The rest of the state is tired of paying for local quality of life projects that should be financed, well, locally!

How about putting all of the unemployed to work in public service. Make it a requirement to continue to receive extended unemployment and welfare benefits. I am only talking about the able-bodied of course. The public sector is supposedly running with not enough staff. I am sure AFSCME,SEIU, and PERA union workers would eagerly embrace these temporary "helpers". WPA and CCC type projects are needed everywhere in the U.S. Unemployed parents on welfare will get free daycare, provided by other parents on welfare. Some unskilled will receive on the job training. This program will almost be free. Come on union public employees! You profess wanting to help the downtrodden-let us give them something worthwhile to do 40 hours a week.
