Give cash subsidy, not a writeoff

$100,000 charitable contributions - for those in the 15% tax bracket... I suppose a former Bush administration adviser would worry about all those people in the 15% bracket giving $100,000 to charity...

Valid point. If Congress decided how much to spend on a worthy deduction it would be open for debate. Now nobody makes a decision year afer year what does this cost and what should it cost.

In other words, you want to change the deduction into a refundable tax credit. Yet another way to make people into net tax receivers. If I have an AGI of zero, another deduction is of no befit, under this plan, I become a profiteer off of the 53%!!! Good Plan!!!NOT.
