Merry and Blessed Christmas! I went to my 'Apple' this morning hoping to start this 25th at 5AM on a positive note. What to my wondering eyes should appear but a story of dedication to cheer! I won't compare or contrast this to any other situation, but Mr. Scoggins and Mr. Beal you give us a moment to reflect on why we love to read about people who persevere.

So the guy's gonna cripple himself to play football for the gophers? Wow!

Even on X-Mas morning, we still find grumpy people on this board. Beal indicated that he is going to rehab and play as long as his health is not in danger. It is HIS choice to make. He got a great education and will probably go on to make more money as a hedge fund manager, but can't blame his desire to play football. This story shows an insight into Coach Kill and his player's relationship. Based on this story, it contradicts the one with his star wide receiver who left and transferred. I guess there 2 sides to a story. Good luck Brandon and I hope to see you on the field as a Gophers, playing up to your potential. Be safe and stay healthy.

I know a man from a Fortune 500 company who scans news stories looking for people who have your intestinal fortitude, Mr. Beal, and he also checks out one other attribute 'positive thinking'. Some very good examples in the 'comments sections' that are posted, in the various articles that the 'Strib' offers us, point to the very type of people that he would or wouldn't hire. Do you wonder why the man is successful?!

Stories like this just go to prove that you can't predict the future of a "5 star" recruit or any recruit. Through no fault of his own, Brendan Beal gets injured numerous times and hasn't been able to showcase his "5 star" talent. I wish him all the best in his efforts.
