Good to hear, that is, that there are a few team rules that if broken can result in consequences.

Hopefully we don't have another football player with entitlement issues. Maybe M.Carter can do an intervention.

So they call flunking out a "violation of team rules?" No one wanted to listen to what you were getting with this tremendous recruiting coup!

@vikesmortgage - Yeah, you're right. No young man deserves a chance to prove himself after a past mistake or failure. Of course, you are assuming that grades are the "violation". If it is poor grades, then it will be handled that way. Coach Kill has emphasized and helped improve the Gopher team academics, so I am not sure why you feel the need to vilify (again).

[A] mistake? lol Guess you don't have a lot of background on his history, do you? lol

PS: if you consider downgrading their academic responsibilities to playing tiddly-winks and tic-tac-toe, progress, more power to you.

Another article in the paper right now talks about Brendan Beal and his 3.75 GPA in Business Marketing, and how he is now in grad school majoring in financial mathematics. That is just one example. There have been many others chronicled over this past season, including some who turned around from being close to flunking out, and now being close to graduation instead. So far I don't see the "academic downgrade" to which you refer. Examples, please.

This is rule, rather than a solo exception you dredge up: http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/135546813.html

"So they call flunking out a "violation of team rules"---Unless you are a faculty member or a teaching assistant at the U, you don't know that this has anything to do with grades. Probably best to keep your mouth shut.
