Well maybe Sue should have voted for someone that can improve the economy rather than make it worse?

Unemployment as administered in Minnesota is a waste. There are lots of jobs that go unfilled while the "unemployed" turn them down, work for cash, or just go fishing until the money runs out. Then they look for a job, our business has paid into the system for twenty years,, and never had a claim. But we still pay into a bogus system. The irony is there are people who really are in need, but their case is weakened by the abuse.

Not to worry, according to conservatives all these people will find jobs a week after the freebie unemployment checks stop. I know several highly skilled, highly experienced, highly motivated unemployed people who have been out of work for 6-9 months or more. I'm glad they'll be employed in a couple weeks.

This is what republicans want. Fewer "entitlements". Republicans can't wait for Jan. 1 to get here.

As a employer I am tired paying into a broken system. Also I'am tired of hearing "will look for work when my unemployement runs out".

The givememy party can't blame anyone but themselves for this. This could of been avoided but the great one just can't get over having to raise taxes so it looks like Obama part 2 is really going to be miserable for everyone. I hope everyone who voted for the great one has a nice Christmas knowing they are responsible for these people losing their benefits.

pitythefools...What you said follows the most recent research. According to that research the unemployed don't suddenly increase their search for a job when they near the end of their unemployment benefits. Instead the opposite occurs, they become more depressed, sullen, and discouraged and often stop looking for work. That is why it is so important to extend the unemployment benefits, it gives them a better opportunity to find a job. I know the research busts the myths of teapublicans but the data is the data.

It always comes down to "get a job, you lazy bum" with conservatives. You ever apply for 20, 30, 100 jobs without a single response, not even a "while your credentials are impressive, we've decided to pursue other candidates for this position" rejection email? It's a thoroughly dejecting experience. Sadly, I think at this point we're going over the cliff and the next month or two are going to be extremely challenging for a lot of people. All thanks to Republicans.
