Joe, you talk as if this suddenly came up. My question is what did the Obama administration do over the last four years to address this?
Obama did not present a budget in his entire first term, so why the blame?
I guess with Obama's record, we can look forward to more blame and deflection to avert any attention to his poor performance.
Lieberman is a non-factor. Just another clueless liberal fool.
When did a tax increase and budget cuts, i.e paying your bills, become a disasterous thing. Washington is broken.
Joe should call Obama in Hawaii and tell him to address this issue if he's really concerned.
How come the $31 Billion in new Obamacare taxes is not disastrous? I know because its on the "Rich" Therefore the $160B per year in Obamas Plan is not disastrous either because its on the rich, but the $200B across the board is because its on everybody? So $160 increase on 2% is good but $200B on 100% is bad???
Lieberman is a non-factor. Just another clueless liberal fool.*** Regardless (or is it irregardless) of whether Lieberman is a liberal, he did not say the Republicans were responsible for the current impasse. To be responsible requires the ability to act and decide. The majority since 2010 has never possessed this ability being entirely the tools of their leaders and intellectual masters. Witnessing the confused reversals lately of Norquist, The Heritage Foundation, etc. even their leaders couldn't decide on the strategy of backing Boehners's plan B! If they had passed it the Dems would get framed for nixing a tax increase on millionaires. On the other hand Republicans would irrevocably have voted for a tax increase. Such mental anguish for the Party of NO! "Lieberman says going over the cliff 'will be the most colossal consequential act of congressional irresponsibility in a long time, maybe ever in American history.'" Notice he didn't say the Republicans acted or were responsible for committing this unpatriotic act. But the sin of omission, (ie. "irresponsibility") can have the same effect as deliberate sabotoge of the national ecomnomy. The President may be criticized for conceding too little or too much in his efforts to avert this impending recession. But he could only be considered irresponsible if he caved into any of the budget proposals passed thus far by this Congress which openly defy the fact of his Presidency and leaves to his Cabinet Officers the impossible task if implementing the GOP budget's mandates.
We ALL know it's he GOP that has been obstructing the future of our nation from the day we were all told "our objective is to make this president a one term president." You can't and won't be able to EVER hide from this on video fact. Go ahead and throw red meat to your small percentage of far right extremists. We'll take care of you come next election if there is still a viable country.
The real story is yet to come. Obama, by refusing to include substantial but cuts, won this battle. He will blame the GOP at every opportunity. But, increasing the debt limit is coming up, and by trashing the GOP, he is doing nothing to foster good will with the House to deal to increase the debt limit. His "my way or the highway" will destroy his second term and send the nation into a deep recession...all which is self induced.
We ALL know it's he GOP that has been obstructing the future of our nation from the day we were all told "our objective is to make this president a one term president." You can't and won't be able to EVER hide from this on video fact. ************* Fact is the video was taken out of context.
