I was really sorry to see them close their shop in our neighborhood. They make a much better cup of coffee than the two major names in the business.

It's easy for a company to perform quarter after quarter when they offer ZERO health insurance - not even available for purchase - to their baristas and their store managers. Even Starbucks and Caribou, corporate giants that they are, have been providing benefits for years now. How friendly is your little neighborhood chain now after that shot of info espresso?

A single payer healthcare system like Canada's would allow businesses like Dunn to concentrate on business. It would make labor healthier and more mobile. And it would be far cheaper.

So blame the company for not going broke providing expensive health care? They can offer ins and than lower pay to offset their loss? Or charge more for coffee to cover expense?

Just fine thank you. Forming a "group" for health insurance is one service corporate could offer to its franchises. My major concern is minimum wage. With a "livable" wage and ACA the Baristas and store managers would have a better time finding affordable health care. I know of a Dunn Bros in my area that was forced to close simply because the landlord doubled their rent at the end of their lease.

My complaint with both Dunn Bros and Caribou is the strength of their coffee. I used to frequent both simply for the free wifi. I still enjoy occasional trips to Dunn Bros but, since the store in my area closed , the trips are longer and fewer.
