I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what Terry Ryan is going to do with that $30M he has to spend on FA pitching. I mean, this guy will have cut payroll by almost $50M in two years. What's up with that? Then again, when I look at Rich Harden as a potential pitcher in this rotation, I like it better than thinking Nick Blackburn might be in that rotation. But TR needs to spend some money. This team sucks.

very low risk high reward move, i like it. But i sure hope they bring in another vet starter. liriano for 2 years 14 million would have been nice. at least we know what were getting with him. in todays crazy pitching market, that doesnt seem out of line

Give me your tired, your poor pitchers, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost pitchers to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door ... to a roster spot on the Twins pitching staff ... You know, I can't decide if I saw these words at the Statue of Liberty or if this was Terry Ryan's state of the Twins address.

Might as well go for it....it appears that this may be the "BIG" potential signing as far as pitchers go for 2013.. No change, much of the same????? Hopefully NOTTTTTT

r11- life long Twins fan here (win or lose) but I gotta' ask ... who of the rotation will be the first to go down with bi-lateral arm weakness?

That rotation would be a decent rotation IMO, IF they are healthy and can stay healthy, which seems to be a problem with 3/5 of this rotation.
