The operation may keep him out of the office for some time; aides say he'll work from home.

It's no wonder he always has that kind of stupid grumpy look on his face...He was in constant pain from his back...Hmmm, chronic back pain, maybe he should just smoke a joint or 2...Oh that's right, he can't because he won't pass the medical marijuana law, instead, he would rather keep popping those pills like a junky!! lol

Surgery paid for by me that Dayton could have had done before his election. Is the state taxpayer, federal taxpayer, the money in the Dayton Clans tax sheltered accounts in SD, or his ex wife paying for this?

Dear Guv, I hope your surgery is successful and you feel like your old self again soon. Back pain is the worst. Follow the docs' orders, and you'll be amazed how good you can feel. Merry Christmas!

Maybe Dayton should abstain from the pain pills afterwards and get himself a new perspective on medicinal marijuana.

I see the Christmas spirit is alive and well (NOT!) with posters such as xyz123q and moskallah. These comments say more about the posters themselves than about the governor.

I will say something good about Gov. Dayton. After surgery I hope he comes out a better man, and God willing, for the sake of Minnesota, a better governor. Merry Christmas.

I wish you Governor Dayton a speedy recovery. Your a good man and a good leader for the state of Minnesota. I just wish that you had picked a facility that treats ordinary people the way they treat people in your position. Do you know that Mayo Clinic turns away the uninsured if they cannot come up with $5000? Did you know that a patient can be treated very unkindly and no one will speak up? Did you know that if you ask for another doctor, because there are problems with the one you are seeing, you can end up having substandard care? Mayo clinic is excellent for those who are wealthy, a well-known politician, famous athlete, etc., but not for the people that have limited power or resources in this world. I wish that you had gone to the U of M or some place where ordinary folks are respected and treated in the same manner that Mayo Clinic will treat you.

I don't like him as our governor but I do hope that he makes a full recovery.

Governor - make sure it's not hip replacement surgery you need, instead of back surgery. My cousin was misdiagnosed and luckily he went with the hip replacement - no more pain.
