I read today the twins were thinking about talking to FREDDIE GARCIA and his 87 mph fastball.now SAUNDERS wake me up RYAN SIGNS SOMEBODY GOOD.

"The Twins better shore up their infield defense, given..a staff already with three ground ball pitchers".....Not necessary..Just STOP MOWING THE INFIELD GRASS!!!!

Saunders or Myers being added would make the Pelfrey and Correia signings easier to swallow.

I hope Terry Ryan has some grand plan, for Middle Infield help this year, with the money he has to spend plus another Starting Pitcher to take to Spring Training.

Saunders would be an upgrade over everyone from the 2012 rotation except for Diamond. He's also a lot better than Correia. I cringe at the thought of Freddy Garcia, however. I can only dream about the Twins ever signing someone of Jackson's ilk (not that he's going to make anyone forget about Cy Young).

boneyard you are correct! I am in favor of every arm they can sign. I predict Pavano and Liriano will sign with twins again too.

Exactly, better shore up that defense with the pitch to contact they plan on running out there. Or hope once again this year that the offense can somehow outscore the rest of the AL lineups. Obviously they couldn't outscore often enough last year

We have piles of cash! Sign one of the remaining top pitchers. Sign one veteran infielder. Sign Bourn for CF, then put one of fthe young guys in RF after we trade Mourneau at deadline and move Parmalee to 1st.

"Righthander Edwin Jackson remains on the market, but there are no indications that the Twins have seriously pursued him." That sums up everything that's wrong with the Twins' offseason approach. Jackson is young enough that he could help the Twins 3-4 years down the road (when they are ready to contend), and he would've been available for $13 million per year - just a bit more per year than the team spent on Correia and Pelfrey, for a pitcher who is worth twice as many WAR as those two combined.
