Texas Tech's big gaps can cause big headaches for defenses

The Red Raiders spread out their offensive linemen more than most teams, and that can create problems for opposing defenses.

I could be a very long day for the Gophers if they cannot stop the pass which continues to be a problem for them and a long standing team tradition. On the other hand, the players will get an extra 15-days of practice which will benefit them in 2013. Of course, every team with a pulse has received a bowl invitation and will have had the same 15 days of extra practice as well so...

Coach, it's a bowl game. Have fun with it and try something different. how about a 3-1-8 defense - the opposite of stacking the box to stop the run. Get as many fast d-backs as you can into the action and create some chaos for TT.

@jm7fan - I know some people don't have a lot of confidence in our D, but you just suggested a 12-man defensive set. I think we would see some yellow hankies with that one.

I must have missed the story, how is Kill's recruiting class for 2013? Is it in the top 5 recruiting classes of the B1G?

TT is an average team. I do not think the Gophers will get blown away, and they even have a chance to win.

Again a lot of haters here. I can't figure out if it's Hawkeyes fans or Badgers fans or just really bored negative people. Anyway, good article, and looking forward to seeing our strength (pass defense) against their strength (pass offense). Michael Carter and Stoudemire are going to have to be physical and quick.

Given the absence of OSU and Penn State from bowls, the Gophers get a decent opponent in a bowl. This is something to be upset about? Be thankful they aren't in a rematch with a MAC team. They were going to a bowl this year--don't deny you expected it was a done deal when you saw those first four non-con games.

Or Vikings fans tired of listening to this drivel about a joke bowl.
