The pastor's comment is so true. Many of these folks need encouragement and help building self esteem. They don't need to be beaten down further by society. God bless those who are willing to step up and help!

Very well-written article. I hadn't considered Christmas tree ornaments as weapons before. Lots of things the prison officials need to consider to keep them all safe.

thecynic5712 - your comment about self esteem is rather funny since most people knowadays have way to much self esteem and think they can do what they want without consequences. Self esteem is their problem but the other way around. They only think of themselves and not what they do will hurt others. Low self esteem leads people to over achieve to compensate for that low self esteem. People with to much self esteem usually think things are owed to them. Most of these guys are getting their GED. They couldnt do the basics early in life. they learn the hard way. Dont be fooled by them cause they will take advantage of you someday. Their families wouldnt/couldnt post bond for DWI? that should tell you something as well.
