I am sorry, but there is no sense to be found in this case since all of them were dealing with a lunatic. There is no sense in a lunatic. It is time to let that part go. Put some more police in schools and maybe that would help.
They will never make sense of this. How can you? Are the police and FBI still looking in to the phoned threat on Sunday? If Lanza went to the trouble of destroying his hard-drives it may have been to protect people with whom he was working/plotting.
Unfortunately, this type of tragedy brings out all of the worst in some. Arrest for threats in Rush City, school district lockdown in Red Wing. As a retired teacher, volunteer, and sub (today), we worry constantly about keeping the children safe. Parents, do your jobs in raising your kids! Don't dismiss or turn your backs on mental health issues.

Gun rampages continue to occur routinely across this country as they have for years now, yet we fail to respond and do something about the ready availability of assault weapons in the US. What future does this assure us but to expect more of the same? What else can be construed from our inaction but that we've turned our backs to what's been happening and what will continue to happen? We're an advanced industrial nation, but more and more, we act like a failed state.
