Banks' gap between loans, deposits is wider than ever

As a nation we don't save much and we borrow a boat load from others. We had an object lesson in the perils of too much debt just 4 years ago, but that lesson is apparently forgotten. Our government is spending like a drunken sailor - apparently we expect consumers and businesses to do likewise. By all means let's punish the banks for taking too few risks - it's about time we had another financial crisis.
