As time ticks down for salvaging even an abbreviated season, talks have been replaced by maneuvering that could involve a courtroom.

(article's title)'See you in court' is only language NHL, union are speaking ---- Nope. Not even close. It is 'See none of you ever again.' Not the players, televised games, flashy commercials, downtown restaurants, etc. Goodbye and au revoir - the State of Hockey is dead.

Hey 'shack'- The State of Hockey is not dead ... just at the pro level. You want hockey? Schwann Cup is one of the better high school level/age tourneys in North America and it's right around the corner! Holiday tourneys all over the place. MIAC games are a WHOLE lot better than they used to be. Just as Mount Union college has a great football club built on fellas who maybe didn't fit at Ohio State, Penn State etc but who are still highly skilled ... so it is with MIAC hockey. Lots of skill there! Take in a youth tourney. There's plenty of hockey in MN and it's being played by people who WANT to play it. As for NHL/Wild it's all very laughable because neither side 'gets it'. For about $6 admin and $3 bucks for a weenie and hot chocolate you'll forget about NHL!

Ooops. I thought everyone in the Minnesota Mild's marketing machine tumbler knew that the "State of Hockey" statement was a direct reference to the Mild. That is why it is capitalized by the team as if it is trademarked. And, you're right, the lesser than pro games are many times more fun to watch! C'ya NHL...

No longer "sports" news - please park this negotiation news at the end of the business section. As the kid that imitated Herb Brooks in Miracle would say..."it's OVER". And note to FSN...might want to start televising a few Houston games just to feed the hockey hunger.

Ridiculous. I got nothin' else... Except you can find cricket if you look hard enough at your sports channels.... It's kinda cool, in an "I' don't have the NHL, guess I'll watch cricket kinda way..." It's great in HD. Seriously...

Minnesota has College and High School hockey to get them thru the winter. The real damage to the NHL will be in the southern locations. Dont be surprised if a couple of teams are contracted.

Even if this tactic works and the lockout ends, the damage is done. Their only saving grace might be that they are not obligated to refund season ticket holder money if nobody wants to go to the games. I would gladly take a full refund NOW please!! I find this whole thing unconscionable. Millionaires controlling this situation and arguing over who will be richer while the businesses and the "real people" who depend on the leauge operations to make a living are the ones getting pummeled here! As a fan, yeah, it would be nice to watch some hockey but I can live without it. High School and College hockey aren't bad alternatives. The only thing I'd like to see preserved is that future opportunity or spark of hope for a high schooler that he may be able to play at the pro level some day - well, that's questionable at this point.

If I was a player Russo I would never in my life give you another interview. WHO LOCKED WHO OUT? Who has did nothing but give back? And than who gives out contracts to big and two long Who? Who has the power to say TODAY lets play?
