LEN: The three have to prove they can come over from the National League and boost the Twins' rotation. BALLFOUR: Once again, time to quit thinking the AL has all this great hitting and pitchers in the NL have it easy. Last season, the AL hit 2500 HRs, had a .255 BA and a .411 SA. The NL had 2434 HRs (the NL was short by about the 60 HRs that Fielder and Pujols hit in the AL), a .254 BA (one point less than the AL; that's with the pitcher hitting, folks) and a .400 SA. The AL scored 4.45 runs per game and the NL 4.22.

This guy had Tommy John last May? A career losing record. We don't need another average pitcher coming off major surgery. Who's gonna be the ace? We don't even have a #2 guy. A bunch of #4 starters with the hope that one of them catches lightning in a bottle. This is Twins territory!

"...vastly altered rotation." Ummmmmm...No. Just different names.

This is how you plug a hole? They(Twins)are just going through the motions here to appease the public. They'll finish in the basement again, and Twins fans will have to buy into again.

Actually, what they have is a big collection of #4 or #5 starters in a 5 man rotation. The old adage, quantity does not equal quality comes to mind. Same old Twins, at least for this coming year.

This is absurd. The club admittedly says it needs to be careful to monitor the innings of a pitcher it HOPES to have in the rotation and who had TJ surgery in 2011 (Gibson), yet it hands out $4.5 million for a guy it expects to be a reliable top line starter this coming season who had TJ surgery in May 2012! What's wrong with this picture?!

The Twins model get quantity over quality! I prefer quality i'm thinking the good teams do

They are not in a position to truely win this coming year no matter what they do. Bill Smith set this team back a couple of years with the way he spent money, swapped players and lost the essentials of the Twins system. They could hardly play defense anymore. Although I agree Ryan isn't adding players that will put them in a position to win next year I don't know that it's possible. The number one and number two type pitchers almost always come from inside the organization except if your from one of the 5 big spending teams. The Twins are who they are and most years, minus the past three, they are who I grew up loving.

Twins FO needs to stop insulting the intelligence of its fan base and say it like it really is: "Ok - we admit it. We are in full-blown rebuilding mode for the next 2-3 years". Just say it dang it!

Before everyone goes belistic here, lets give this a shot to see if it works.... doesn't sound the best to me either, but at least they are trying to get some arms that can throw 175 + innings.....another wait and see deal.....
