Vikings coach Leslie Frazier on Monday said quarterback Christian Ponder's play early in the Vikings' 36-22 victory at St. Louis on Sunday helped spring running back Adrian Peterson.

Ponder definitely showed improvement this week -- over 100 passing yards and no INTs. He and Adrian can lead this team deep into the playoffs.

why dont they just give me 50 grand and i can do what ponder does and save them some money, i will give ponder 0 credit for the 2 wins, peterson and the defense deserve all of the credit. the vikings need to look at a qb this offseason through a trade or something

Peterson's chasing the rushin record DESPITE the play from the QB, not because of it.

Wow, really - I guess having one of the most unproductive quarterbacks in the league makes you talk about their footwork for setting up the running game to keep some positivity going. At this point what is he offering during the game that Webb couldn't do better with his ability to run.

Footwork???? Just think if Ponder had "armwork"...now that would keep the opponents from stacking the box.

Ponder has earned the rath of fans with his poor play this year.I would call him the worst QB in the league, but he does have some competition for that honor. Still, there have been some green shoots lately. Last week, he converted a 4th and 2 with a sideline run, and then gets the touchdown by escaping a sack. His biggest problem this year is not coming up to the speed of the game. The coaching staff has hit a reset on the game plan to ride AP as far as he will take them the rest of the year.Ponder will need to contribute by making the occasional play action rollout pass to a TE or hurling a deep ball (that won't be caught because his accuracy sucks)to Simpson. But the biggest thing is not to make a stupid mistake. If the play isn't there, throw it out of bounds. I know this does not sound real sexy, but Viking fans, we don't have RG3, we don't have Luck, we don't have Russell Wilson,Kaepernick,Dalton, or Cousins. We have Christian Ponder and he has two games left to help the Vikes get a playoff spot in that can only be called an out-performing season for the Minnesota Vikings!

Do me a favor sports writers don't EVER use Ponders name in the same sentence as Adrian Peterson, it's just disrespectful to Adrian.

Good thing for Frazier that NFL players don't know how to read, otherwise; they know that the heat is going to be cranked up in the practice facility.... DUH!!!!!

Oh geez - I can't believe y'all are still on the Frazier bandwagon ... he's got tunnel vision as far as Ponder's concerned and Ponder's got tunnel vision with the team. I don't know what has to happen - even Ziggy doesn't seem to see how bad either one are. What would the season look like if Joe were to have been put in there. hmmmmmmmmm.
