Awesome individual. People should look up and read the account of how he was awarded his Medal of Honor. Sen. Inouye was one tough son of a gun.

I met him when I was stationed in Germany back in the late 80's. He was genuinely concerned about soldiers' welfare. God speed.

read the account of what he did to earn his Medal of Honor. They don't make them any tougher than Senator Inouye.

My late father spent three years of combat in the Pacific, yet he always thought the rounding up and ongoing detainment of Japanese-Americans was despicable. He had great admiration for men like the Senator who in spite of all that fought bravely for the US in Europe.

Since 1989, Senator Inouye has always introduced legislation to every new Congress (every 2 years) to return the observance of Memorial Day back to May 30th. His reason was to bring back the honor and true meaning of the day in which all Americans reflected and honored the ultimate sacrifice of our fallen during all wars. He often said that the 3 day weekend was more of a sell-a-bration with store sales and people flocking to the cabins without any regard to the true meaning of the day. RIP Senator and I thank you for your service. (Salute)

Thank you for serving our country in the military. I wish you would have been more moderate in congress. The two sides need to agree to get things done.
