The former Mets righthander missed most of 2012 because of a torn elbow ligament but has indicated he will be ready for the start of 2013.

Better correct your story. He missed most of 2012, not 2011. He played in 34 games in 2011

Are we doing ALL of our shopping in the bargain basement bin?! Why buy a ticket if ownership doesn't do their part?

Time for fans to say we too can sit on our wallets.

@sidhartman This has nothing to do with ownership. My girlfriend works in the Twins organization. The purse strings are there. Terry Ryan could spend $120M and Jim Pohlad wouldn't bat an eyelash. It's Terry Ryan. He's a dumpster divin', nickle-and-dimer that wants the baseball world to once again pat him on the back for creating a winner with a $20M payroll. (Sarcasm.) This is Terry Ryan's issue. He had $35M to spend on pitching, and this is what he's come up with: Correia and Pelfrey. I will say it again: Terry Ryan is not fit to turn this organization around. He's a dinosaur, living for yesteryear's accolades, and he's ALWAYS had issues with assembling a major league roster.

Cafetev, if you believe that, I have some swamp land to sell you. Ryan is the ultimate company guy, taking all the heat for ownership. Ryan is very competent but is handcuffed.

Wow, so caferev's girlfriend works for the Twins. That apparently makes caferev an expert (sarcasm). I could buy part of your argument, until you said Terry Ryan has "ALWAYS had issues with assembling a major league roster...". Really? ALWAYS? Let's not forget it was the brief but destructive Billy Smith Era and HIS trades and failed signings that put us where we are now. I'm guessing caferev and his girlfriend were probably in middle school when then GM Terry Ryan had "trouble" assembling a major league roster that somehow made playoff appearances in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006...

My take is that Ryan is still trying to do it the "Twins" way, which is the way of the Padres, A's, Astro's, and Pirate's. Now there's a group of winners to be bunched in with!

And if you say that being lumped in with the A's, who made a run last year, isn't bad, remember they have the best GM in baseball. We have Ryan, who isn't.

Wow! That starting rotation is going to put the fear of God into the opponents. (major sarcasm)
