Playing in his first basketball game in nine months, Rubio demonstrated no rust or lingering problems with his surgically repaired left knee in sparking the Wolves to a 114-106 overtime victory against the Mavs.

As a long time fan going back to the beginning of this franchise last night was the first time I sat and watched a complete game and that was because of Ricky Rubio.I never doubted one minute that he would be a class act and NBA star because I spent countless hours before and after he was drafted watching film of him playing in Europe.I have also been a long time NBA fan going back to the 70's.Although not as good of shooter Ricky reminded me so much of Pistol Pete Maravich. He electrifies the game like Pete used to do.Get ready for a long run with Ricky Rubio Timberwolves fans because he is not going anywhere. Other top NBA players will want to come to Minnesota to play with one of the best NBA point guards to ever play this game.

nice to see some life and enthusiasm instilled in a team by a team leader. Imagine if the vikings got the saem from their qb....

So if Rubio is very good and makes everyone around him play harder and better, what exactly is it that makes Love a better player? This isn't just knee jerk response to a fun debut by Rubio or the fact that Love has rally stunk that last couple games or response to Love's comments last week. They are great together but the team fell apart when Rubio was hurt last year. What makes Love the better player? You can't just say stats. Right now Kirilinko, Petrovic and Smed are right up there with them and Barrea and Ridnour close behind. This is now a team of 6 or 7 very valuable components rather than a couple stars and I hope Love realizes this. He is one of if not the best power forward but his value to this team will be to fit in.

Rubio = Positibe energy. Love = negative energy. Rubio is the leader of this team. Not that clown Love.

LJB6599, I hope you are right about Rubio's impact and longevity as a Timberwolf. But you've been an NBA fan since the 70s and a Wolves fan since the beginning and have never sat and watched a whole game before? Wow. Anyhows, you picked a good one to start with, and I hope you watch and enjoy many more. Go Wolves!

That he's never watched an entire game from start to finish means he is not a real fan.
