This is just funny!

The difference between someone who is 18-19 years old and one who is 22-23 years old. Good for him for having matured, and listened to parents and coaches.

ummmm...he turns 23 in august: "Born August 8, 1990 • son of Eric Hageman and Jill Coyle • youth studies studies major • oldest of five children in the Hageman family."

Nice story, he s/b proud of himself. Are you listening N.B.A.?? If you had a rule like the N.F.L. 18 and 19 year old 'kids' wouldn't be chasing the money ending up broke and dribbling a basketball is some far away country.

@ndsupuddle: I'm not sure why such a story would be funny to you. It shows that a young man was recruited only for on-field ability by BrewLoser and never pushed for academic success. However, he has matured and been shown by a new coaching and support staff how he can succeed both on the field and in the classroom. It also shows that he has a realistic view of his abilities, so rather than chasing an elusive mediocre payday now, he will work to improve on the field, and achieve an academic goal that BrewBoo never cared whether or not he achieved. Doing that, he will be ready for higher success at the next level, and success in life. Delayed gratification is something that is sorely lacking in today's "I want it all now" society.

Stay in school, get a degree and maybe the Gophers can win 7 or 8 next year. Be serious but have a little fun.

ndsubeatsmn - still sad that nobody outside ND cares about the Bison? Get over it and enjoy the success that your little school on the prairie has had this season.

Why...just why would a guy who barely made honorable mention all conference in the weakest BCS conference in America, think the NFL even knows his name? Must be all the national exposure he got from the huge triple overtime victory over UNLV.

Youth Studies? Is that an actual major?

I feel really sorry for a few of these posters who think they can somehow hurt the University of Minnesota Football Program with their childish and immature posts. Good people, feel free to ignore them...contrast their poor manners by showing some class...and...if that doesn't work give 'em hell. But, NEVER let those ba$hers get you down... ; 0 )
