Great read Larry! I have spent 46 years in a deer stand for a few dozen hours each year and feel the same you do these days...for all the same reasons. We are all lucky to have the memories! My favorite days of the year, no doubt!

Thanks for sharing Larry, I really enjoyed reading it! I makes me get all warm and excited for next years hunt in the deep north woods. As one commenter put it, "My favorite days of the year, no doubt."

Good read. The time we spend in the woods is not subtracted from our remaining time on this planet IMHO.

Great story; It is the same for family pheasant hunters, fishing trips, canoe trips, etc. Family together in nature doing what they love. Nothing in the world like it.

Nothing like getting immortalized in the local paper, sitting there with a dead animal in your lap. Human culture takes yet another step backward.

"Hey, look at me...I dropped an animal using nothing but a high powered rifle."...

gunflintmama does not like hunting so she figures nobody else should either. To each their own mama.

Great article! Great read! The best part is that the 2nd amendment says that we will be doing this for years to come! Yah! Pheasants, ducks and deer...All tasty lill' critters! RR
