Students keep Elk River board tuned in

High school liaisons are sharing classmates' opinions as the school board discusses important issues.

Unfortunately, these kids do not know that they are only props and that decisions are made days if not weeks/months before political meetings actually take place. For instance: if a "liaison" is asked what a new gymnasium should have and he/she responds with, "we don't need a new gymnasium so don't spend the money - spend it on this instead" and it turns out to be a better spending of funds, is the school board going to stop the multi-million dollar gym project after all the verbal deals have been made? Or, change the lunch menu when all the food vendor deals have been made? I don't think so.
