If one thinks gun control will address the issue, suggest reading the transcript of a Nightline program (circa 1995) regarding the "global" gun trade business. The first portion of the business is legal and shows like the tip of an iceberg. The second portion is illegal and dwarfs the legal business (e.g., think alcohol prohibition). Take a trip down to Stillwater and speak with a few "hardened" criminals and ask, "Who do you prey upon? Those who can defend themselves or those who can protect themselves? While not politically correct or taught in academia, the reality is that most [sane] criminals will not place themselves in jeopardy when perpetuating criminal activity.

What will it take? I support gun rights. I own guns. I hunt with them, and if I had to, I could defend my home and family with them. I do not need a 30 (or more) round clip. I do not need a semiautomatic assault rifle, or a high capacity pistol. Those weapons are designed not just to kill, but to kill a LOT of things. Public doesn't need that. My prayers go out to the grieving families in Connecticut tonight. NRA, this IS blood on your organization's hands, regardless of how you squirm, excuse, and deflect. Go hug your kids.
