How about opponents of ALL violence? Making it just about gun violence is political.

How about rallies against the War on religion. We have let these athiest take religion out of the our lives. Kids these days grow up thinking religion is bad, and there are no consequences for your action. Twenty years ago when I was growing up as a kid I along with my friends and brothers understand the consequences of our action. We understood we were not entitled to anything and we respected everyone. We were safe in schools we pledged allegence to the flag (with the word GOD in it). Its not the guns its the war on religion that is the problem.

Guns make me feel safe. When did everyone at the school feel safe. Answer is when the cops showed up with there guns. Teachers should have the right to carry guns!

26 Americans died yesterday in a senseless, tragic attack at a school in Connecticut. 90 Americans die EVERY DAY in automobile accidents no less tragic, and hundreds suffer often life-changing injuries. Which statistic is more important?

I hope someone is considering the meds this kid may have been on. Reports say he had Aspergers. Medications (like Prozac) have the effect of suppressing emotional swings. When a kid like this goes off of them for some reason, it's like his emotions go crazy, as if catching up. This isn't about gun violence. This could could have done anything, driven a car into a crowded plaza, or found something else. -- Sympathies to the friends and families of those affected.

Hey ironwolf1950, this isn't political it's just common sense. There was a story from China today about a man who attacked 22 school children with a knife. Guess how many survived? ALL OF THEM. There will always be crazy people, but crazy people with unlimited access to guns makes society a much more dangerous place. It's not political to ask for sensible controls on firearms, that's just a decent, human response to this madness.

The anti-gun crowd insists on politicizing this horrible crime. Yet they fail to see that these crimes continually occur in 'gun-free' zones like schools. Mass shootings never happen at gun ranges, police stations, etc, because criminals know people there are armed. I think it is past time to start posting armed security at all schools. At a minimun, trained teachers and administrators should be allowed to carry concealed in schools. Once word of this got out, these shooting rampages in schools would come to a screeching halt.

Was this shooter on some kind of pharmaceuticals? I'm alarmed at how many prescription drugs have known side effects of suicidal urges, psychotic thinking, violent outbursts, deranged behavior - and yet are still legal! Maybe we should be looking deeper than just the weapon, and rally against the real causes of this insanely violent behavior.
