Looks like Coach Grant will get a chance to coach at a place where he doesn't have the best facilities, or one of the largest student bodies. Good luck coach.

chuck194: Sorry to tell you, but St. John's was rated one of the top football experiences in all of college football by Sports Illustrated. It was #11. Obviously, you have never experienced a Johnnie game day experience. Bucket list item fella.

Three local homers - that's the best they can come up with in a "national" search? Grant has never had to recruit, nor has he faced real competition at the helm of the state's largest high school. Show me a coach who has accomplished a lot with nothing, then I'll be persuaded.

Who couldn't be successful at Eden Prairie?

They should be able to do much better than these three. There is a coach out there who shares their values and has experience recruiting students who are also athletes. This is different than recruiting athletes and turning them into students. St Johns has a wonderful tradition and wonderful campus, but the competition has improved. St Thomas has differences that they can exploit in recruiting and their facilities are better. Pickingone ofthese three guys is a poor gamble.

A coach who has accomplished a lot with nothing is Kurt Ramler. He's my first choice, I hope he gets the job although I wouldn't complain if Grant ends up as the new caoch.

Give Grant the job. Just his name will help with recruiting and the state of MN football programs. Hopefully if he does get the job he then can move up to the Vikings - now wouldn't that be something.

I just wonder who Sid Hartman would recommend for the job.

Is St Johns only considering alumni for this job? Seems a little narrow minded to leave out other top candidates just because they're not St. johns graduates. Is a high school coach really the best candidate they could find for this program?
