The Vikings star running back looks better than ever, but he says it's a product of all the hard work he put in to rehab his knee.

Peterson is definately having a career season, too bad his efforts have yet and never will yield a Super Bowl ring as long as he is a member of the vikings. Peterson will be well into his mid-thirties by the time this vikings organization will be able to compete for even a NFC North Division title. If Peterson is smart he will move on to a team that is a legitimate championship ontender in the next couple of years and if not he will be remebered as just another player with nothing more than some lofty rushing stats (Barry Sanders, O.J. Simpson, Dickerson etc...) but no Super Bowl ring.

When you draft a QB like Ponder so high the GM puts blinders on to make it work. Too invested in Ponder to realize they had another option. Peterson won't win a Super Bowl with Ponder.

Fisher is right, for Peterson to have a shot at Dickerson's record or even 2,000 yards, the defense has to get off the field on 3rd down.

prplchump: With a below-average QB, they are already competing for a NFC North Division Championship, so I have no idea where you come up with that stuff.

Swede700 - Maybe you need to check the latest NFC North Division standings. The vikings are in third place and two and a half games out of first place with three games to go. How is that competing for a division title???

Sid, I'm anxiously awaiting the Big 10 schedule. Tubby will get outcoached the last 10 minutes of almost every game and certainly the last 5 minutes will prove him to be at the bottom for quality of coaching. Look at his record! He has a hard time with an in-bounds play when the other team turns up the second half pressure.

Sid, i'm losing respect for your column. Purple Jesus is the biggest story in the NFL. you talk about his offseason efforts and the results ~great work Captain Obvious!
