In an email Thursday afternoon, Kluwe wrote: "If the team ever wants to replace me, they will; I'm under no delusions as to how this business operates. We all get cut eventually."

I wish Kluwe would keep the political discussions to a minimum. He certainly has a right to say anything he wants, but having that right does not mean it's a good idea. I agree with many of his political positions, but I understand that not every Minnesota Vikings fan does. Politics should not get in the way of enjoying a football team or cheering for a player. That said, I think the Ray Guy incident is an incredibly stupid controversy. It's silly for the NFL to fine a player just because he taped a piece of paper to his uniform. All the League does is call more attention to the gesture, which means Kluwe comes out of this as the winner.

It's nice that Kluwe actually sees a role for himself as a citizen, rather than just as a football player. It would be sad if the Vikes cut him merely because he has a personality. Kluwe in his free time speaks out on important issues of the day. Jared Allen stabs wild boars to death. To each their own.

Unbelievable! This activist actually gives Kluwe credit for the amendment defeat as though we can't figure things out on our own and need a narcissistic PUNTER to tell us how to vote! This woman obviously doesn't know a thing about the game of football or she wouldn't have "recruited" a punter to get out her message in the first place. As for Kluwe, everyone behind the scenes know that his teammates hate him and want him gone. He's a mentally unstable young man inflicted with something known as Histrionic Personality Disorder, or HPD, and just needs to take his meds more often. Moreover, he doesn't even live in MN during the offseason so everyone can stop pretending like he cares about this state.

Getting real tired of this dude's hot air. And he can't even back it up as a decent punter anymore.

I liked Kluwe's comment about defending Bush on punts a couple years ago. He's never matched that comment: “Kick off to Bush and everyone run to the sideline with your arms held high screaming hysterically”, or something like that, referring to the two times Bush ran back punts for touchdowns in the Aints game.

it's time to break out the PRO BOWL APPEARANCE:STUPID ACTION quotient. i believe it's 0:5 by now. time for a new employer, kluwe. imagine how he'd go over with philly fans.

Funny how so many people who probably vent their opinions daily get so worked up when someone they do not agree with talks. Keep it up Chris, the last time I checked the first amendment was still in force. And to all you "critics", lighten up, it livens up an otherwise boring team. I get tired of listening to the Ponder agonistes, nice to see a public figure put his name on a cause that might not be popular and use his public stance for airing opinions that might be controversial. And i would like to see how far some of the commenters can kick the ball, or make saving tackles like he did last week.

This is what happens when a meaningless profesional athelete like Chris Kluwe gets paid far too much money for doing next to nothing. This clown actually believes his own BS, he thinks that his opinion is being heard when in reality no one cares at all about his thoughts on anything while the media follows him around waiting for him to put his foot in his mouth with every interview.

I have no problem with anyone speaking thier mind but if you check the stats and the replays you will see that his activism in the Amendment campaign seemed to affect his job performance considerably... so I think he needed to keep his focus and head in the game of football which he is paid to play... there are nearly 30 off weeks a year he can focus on anything else he chooses to focus on but from the start of training camp to the last game of the season the focus should be ON FOOTBALL PERIOD... same for Christian Ponder.

Hard to find fault with a guy who falls on the right side of every issue.
