Good....now Obama can pick John Kerry for this position. He is best person for the job, and even republicans are calling for it to go to him.

The Republican long-con is bearing fruit. The next step: sending McCain and Graham to the microphones to talk about the "tremendous respect" they have for John Kerry, and that consider him a strong candidate for State.

It is the same as if the Dems had objected to Condolezza Rice. The Republicans are continuing to play politics with foreign policy. Over the next few days there will be good analyses of what Susan Rice could have accomplished that Republicans will be forced to address. Their error will only diminish trust in Republicans to positively contribute to what once was a bipartisan foreign policy.

McCain (and Graham, et al) have brought their best bullying game to the table, and they, sadly, prevailed. Not a very respectable "win" for McCain as he nears the end of his career in the Senate.

Despite all the self-serving, whining excuses, eRice quit because they did NOT want her under oath and trying to answer the question "WHO sent you out there and told you to say all that false crap?" ANS: The same arrogant narcissist who went on Letterman and said it AGAIN (Knowing it to bhe false) and then went before the UN and said it YET AGAIN (Knowing it to be false).

Well Mr. President. Had you not sent Ambassador Rice out on five different Sunday News shows and instructed her to lie through her teeth in order to cover up your gross negligence and incompetence in addressing American security concerns in Libya, Ambassador Rice would never have been the subject of these alleged 'unfair and misleading' attacks.

According to the lead paragraph, Rice withdrew "...after an ugly standoff with Republican senators..." Since when is expressing concern about the qualifications of a potential Cabinet member "ugly"? And when did the AP water down its professional standards for journalists to allow their personal opinions ("ugly") to enter a legit news story? If anyone wants to talk "ugly," how about describing Susan Rice's water-carrying for murderous African despots in the 1990s, in order to advance in her career? Or her attempts to now cast her withdrawal as a victim of political machinations? Now that's ugly. Plain and simple, Rice was unfit to be Secretary of State; the weight of her incompetence finally caught up with her.

This is the best thing to happen to the Democrats in years, and the GOP fell right into their trap. The Dems will be able to use this vicious Republican opposition to the appointment of a black woman in every election for at least the next four years. The White Male Republican Party has just dug itself into an even deeper hole with minorities in this country. They may be hard pressed to ever win a national election again.
