Boehner has been in charge of the worst do nothing congress in history and now can't even work an agreement with the President. He should resign in disgrace.

Maybe a few repubs have enough common sense to realize nothing good is gained by being such a hardliner. Either Boehner doesn't, or he just likes the publicity of being a pot stirrer - just causing trouble.

Poll after poll keep supporting that there is a mandate for the President to accomplish what he ran on. Yes, one of the most recent even used "mandate" as a term. Those same polls show very negative opinions of the congressional Republicans. This indicates that America is tired of the obstructionism for an ideology the is past it's prime. It's time the admit defeat and go along with the program. You can see the scramble at the state level for the Republicans in power to ram through as much of the ideology as possible. They can hear the death knell starting to ring. 2014, game over.

The Republicans are anything but unified. They messed up Boehner's deal with Obama long ago, and they're going out dragging the Republican Party down with them.

I am completely confident a deal will get done. All this is is a dog and pony show to keep their jobs after they sign off on it.

Once again everyone misses the point! Raising taxes on the wealthy is like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. Revenue is not the problem, government spending is the problem. Can't everyone agree on this?

The biggest problem isn't tax cuts or tax increases or spending cuts. The biggest problem we face is the inability of Washington to sit down and put party aside and come to some kind of compromise that is in the best interest of the country. People are tired of the partisian bickering but our elected officials don't seem to get the message....

"spending is the problem. Can't everyone agree on this?" No, because it's not true.
