Vikings' path to playoffs most likely has no margin for error

The Vikings maintain hopes for the postseason, but they know that a 3-0 finish -- and probably some help -- will be needed.

Nice to ponder all the scenarios, but Ponder will lead us to an 0-3 finish to the season.

Win this week, play competatively the last two weeks and chalk 8-8 up to a good season. A 10-6 division season with Ponder as quarterback makes me cringe and want to give up watching football. Just think of the points some of the playoff teams like the Pack or Giants have put up this year and what the Ponder/Musgrave Vikings can do. Do you really want to get into the playoffs?

Frazier: "Ponder facing defining moment." ************** Really, Lezlie? Let me put it to you this way: Ponder's defining moment happened several games ago. Fail! And your defining moment happened several games ago and continues. Fail! So now we look to Mr. Wilf since Spielman is doing nothing to raise our hopes. We have wasted a good team this year Mr. Wilf on this extended experiment at QB. Can you not see how this is affecting your fan base? We are tired of incompetency.

Don't worry Vikings fans. Frazier is just filling us with the standard, front office talk about Ponder. He knows. Spielman knows. Ponder will be gone in the offseason, make no mistake about it. But, it's not like they can actually say that right now. The Vikings mgmt, knows how bad Ponder really is. Trust me, they know he's not the QB of the future. The whole league knows. If you want this team to move forward in the future, you hope Ponder continues to look awful because last thing we need is a QB like this, lingering around for another year or two.

siouxchamp - i really wanna believe that. i REALLY do. but with all the talk coming from management stressing the progression of NFL quarterbacks and needing to have patience, and blah blah blah, im just not so sure. u would think that frazier, who saw first hand how childress career was destroyed by being too stubborn to let go of a terrible quarterback, would be more careful not to do the same thing. im no expert at football, like those guys are (supposed to be), but from what i've seen of ponder, he just doesnt have the skillset to even be decent in the NFL

Case in Point--John Elway last year in the offseason came out and said "Tebow is our guy going forward and we believe he can lead this team next year". Months later, they sign Peyton Manning to a huge contract. (they knew all along, Tebow wasn't their future). Bottom line these guys have to support, especially in public, the guys they have on their roster today. Same deal with Spielman, Frazier and what you hear today, on Ponder.

Lets just admit it, all 4 teams in the NFC North are terrible. Vikes can't pass, Pack can't run, Chicago can't really do either (other than Marshall), and Detroit can't win the close ones. Whom ever wins the division is still a one and done in the playoffs the way I see it.

I think if Ponder starts off slow in StLouie Frazier will have a short leash with him and pull him as they cannot afford to play a qb with below standard play. I would think we would see Webb if offense stalls. Win at all costs...SKOL!!!

A 3-0 finish is not critical. Finish 2-1 and have washington, dallas and chicago finish 1-2. The latter two are more than likely. It's the redskins that concern me. And @ corngo4r....your answer is not just YES, it is HE double hockey sticks YES! GO Browns this weekend! Skol Vikings!
