I wonder what Kill's buy out is? We could "pass the hat" and get him out of here.

Since Alvarez is already the AD there and on the public payroll, isn't this a double dip?? Wheres the outrage from Governor Scott Koch Brothers and all the other public employee watchdogs over there??? Wait a second, I forgot, this is sports. Principles can be thrown in the ditch when it involves your team. And apparently they have been in this case...

I'm betting this pay is merely a legal formality and would be donated by Alvarez.

marcus, did you read the article? 90% of his pay will be for coaching and 10% will come from his AD role. 90% and 10% don't add up to 200%/double dipping. Also, if state universities didnt have football, basketball and a couple other revenue earning sports depending on the state or university, no other sports would exist and the state wouldn't get any income from them either.

sickle, he is the Dept Head with an unmanned Coaching position currently. Since I presume he is qualified, he should step into the position and take care of it until a new hire is concluded then he would go back to his normal duties. This is how it works at other businesses. The Dep Head or a subordinate pickup the slack, normally without any monetary perks included, but because it comes with the territory.

Is anyone surprised? Nice of Barry to give himself a raise. At least we now know that Barry wasn't in it for the kids. Only thing bigger than the paycheck is Barry's ego.
