These players are adult men, coaches or not, when a player takes a shot at another player in order to injure them, they should be punished. The players are just as guilty as the coaches.

Everyone knew all along that once the initial furor died down these would be overturned.

Way to cower in an attempt to avoid lawsuits. Now the Vikings players that were part of that game should say the misconduct cost them real wages and the lack of an effective punishment for the offenders shows a lack of player concern by the league, and yes, they should then sue.

The most important rule of the NFL: If a decision negatively impacts the revenue stream of the NFL and its owners, the decision shall be considered null and void. This includes city ordinances against free stadiums for billionaire team owners (ie the New Jersey Vikings). Remember what the NFL did? It sent in "Svengali Goodell" to set all of us cold Omaha citizens straight.

Once again the NFL does not care about player safety...the NFL should have just done with the NCAA does all the time...take away the Super Bowl win and throw an asterisk in the record books.

And this is one of the many reasons I HATE pro-football (and I used to be a fan!). You have a lot of players with massive athletic talent, but no IQ whatsoever, so they don't know how to "behave" in polite society. And, unless they actually kill someone they are never punished for what they do...EVER! And some don't even get punished when they do kill someone, even if they are just washed-up has beens (O.J. Simpson is a very fine example).

The NFL is rapidly leaving the "sports" column and moving into Vince McMahon's "sports entertainment" realm. What a joke.

Football is a violent game. It did not matter who said to do what, they get paid to hit other players HARD. Barry Sanders bought is Offensive line Rolex's and trips to Hawaii for blocking mvp year is that a payoff. I believe this is a minor incident compared to the Patriots cheating. That deserved suspensions and being kicked out of the league.

And thus he sayeth.... The gladiators may return to the arena! (...to the roar of the blood-thirsty crowd). 2000 years and nothing has changed.

I hope we see massive carnage week in and week out in the NFL!!! This leaves the message that anything goes and you won't have to answer for it...
