I came in through St. Paul. Many of the city street intersections are like ice rinks. When is the City going to put down some sand and salt? What are they waiting for?
Slow down, leave early, take it easy. This is Minnesota; we had a major storm. Oh, and wait your turn.
Would like some reporting on why the cities are not able to improve road conditions? Is it a lack of funds? Too cold for salt to work? Waited too long?
20 years ago this would have been a nonfactor and the streets cleaned up by now. We need more plow drivers when the snow hits. Stop being cheap. We are from Minnesota and should be good at this.
Might want to update this as it is supposed to be above freezing Wed-Fri.
I live in downtown St. Paul and their road "treatment" is laughable at best. Watched from my window as cars and trucks got stuck at the 10th and Jackson intersection. My route to work is Shepard Road. What a joke that is. It should be closed due to dangerous conditions. I spun out 3 times on it and then got stuck in a huge rut at a red light.
Massive ice potholes on Shepard Rd in St. Paul. Ouch.
I came in on 169 and the roads were absolutely perfect. No ice, nothing. Yet people were still moving at the pace of stagecoaches.
Where are the salt trucks!!? I haven't seen a single one in the past two days yet the roads are covered with ice. There should be 1,000 salt trucks out putting an inch thick layer of salt on the roads until the ice is gone. Took me an hour and 15 minutes last night to drive 14 miles.
This should come as no surprise. Even on the best of days, Minnesota drivers are some of the worst in the country. No respect for the passing lane. Inability to merge. Passive-aggressive lane blocking. The list goes on and on...
