Add Liriano, and the only thing left to make this a classic Twins line-up is a three-year contract to Sidney Ponson.

Uuggh! How predictable! I believe I called this signing a couple of months ago. I was hoping the Twins/Ryan would prove me wrong, but alas, no. Cheap "control" pitcher, with a "durable arm". Typical signing by the Twins. While he is clearly just a "bridge" pitcher until the AA/AAA prospects are ready, I get the feeling the Twins are not trying real hard to field a "competitive" team for 2013.

It is really pathetic where we are in sports today when a absolute mediocre guy like that gets 5 Mil per year. These salaries of ALL thee players are getting out of control. I do believe that stars should get paid well but not 20-25 mil a year. This kind of player should make no more then 1 Mil at the most!

LOL way to get Pitching.. LOL

I think the Twins will need to gamble if they want to be competitive right now by shelling out the bucks to some established star. They havn't wanted to take that risk but their minor league system just hasn't produced and I don't even want to speculate how many years it's been since their minor league system has produced.

Given the Twins defensive situation, pitching to contact could easily lead to 90 losses for the 3rd year in a row. The upside is that Legends Club tickets will be available on the street for 10 bucks. The Kirby Puckett trophy case is more interesting than these games will be.

Another pitch to contact pitcher. ROFLMAO!

this will mean garden ire gets another free pass, as in "who can win with these guys?".

The Twins' top 3 starters are now Correia, Worley and Diamond. Compare that with the Tigers' top 3 of Verlander, Fister and Scherzer, or even the Royals' new top 3 of Shields, Santana and Guthrie and you realize the Twins will be competing to avoid last place again in the Central.
