If they really believed some of the incredibly stupid, insensitive garbage that they passed off as fact, then they deserved what they got. The democrats aren't perfect but the tea partiers sure make them look great in comparison. The GOP needs to look in the mirror when they wonder what went wrong.

"GOP candidates said "stupid things" that party leaders should have taught them to avoid saying"---Oh, that's outstanding! Train them to NOT say in public what is in the GOP's platform! Don't say what your going to after being elected! It's not only the "stupid things" they said but all the bills that they brought up in state legislatures and Congress! Oh, yes Dick, people do follow the bills they bring up.

Looks like the tea party members learned something from Obama - blame others.

The really frightening thing about the many "stupid" things coming out of the GOP candidate's mouths is that THEY BELIEVE THEM!! If they didn't have the horse sense or common sense to refrain from the outrageous statements, one can only wonder what they would've done had they been elected!! Joe Scarborough said this morning that there's a "whole racket on the right to make millions saying insane things and making up lies; they don't care about the party, they're only interested in getting rich off sensationalism". He's correct in his assessment, but there's one other very big problem for the GOP: when outrageous statements have been made, other decent Republicans haven't had the guts to say anything or push back.

The T-Party is made up of mostly old angry white folks still living in 1970.To make matters worse they are generally undereducated and uninformed. But Mother Nature has a way of thinning the herd!

Why doesn't the Tea Party just run as a third party?

The only thing coming out of firefight41's mouth is the stuff he/she makes up (like Karl Rove) to make him/her feel good.

The sad thing is that most tea partiers are libertarian, and like the majority of Americans they want limited government, and they want NO government when it comes to the social aspects of your lives - live and let live. But the fire breathing social stalwarts (Michelle Bachmann et al) who hate government, unless they are spying on you (PATRIOT Act), or dictating what you should and shouldn't do in your bedroom in your own house (DMA, other silly legislation) hijacked the movement and claimed it as their own. Here is one former Republican who is hoping there is a big shake out in the coming years to say good riddance to the snake handlers and the speaking in tongues crowd and a return to fiscal conservatism and the "mind your own darn business" crowd.
