Trevor is a beast in the paint. Tubby has done a good job easing him into the line up, letting him get confidence in his knee, while other team mates have gotten valuable experience. For Trevor, it is all about the Big 10 season. Then he can showcase his talent to the NBA come March when the spot light is on.

I do like this team and realize that Mbakwe and Eliason can run with the other players on the court. But Tubby did say on the radio post game that he should have played Walker since he would have had the best chance to keep the 7'3" Oraby from dominating underneath the basket. We don't need another talented big man transferring from The U and this could happen if Tubby "forgets" he has him on the bench.

Why doesn't Walker get more minutes? Are they afraid he will foul out? He seems to be able to make some baskets down low...why not let him play more? Same with Eliason. Now if Eliason just had a bit of offensive talent maybe he could make more than the token basket every game.

It is great to have Mbakwe back and having him and this team playing so well. Unfortunately for us Gopher fans, there are a few other really strong Big Ten teams playing great this year as well. One example is Illinois. I watched #10 Gonzaga and #13 Illinois play over the weekend. I was really impressed with Illinois, and especially with the play of guard Brandon Paul. I really don't know if the Gophers will be able to handle Illinois, but I hope so.

For people questioning why Mo Walker hasn't had much run with this club this year, four things and they all tie together: 1) He's overweight; 2) He's slow; 4) He clearly doesn't have enough stamina (out of shape) and 4) He can't keep up with the tempo of the offense. His MObility (see what I did there?) just doesn't exist in the current shape he is in and this team likes to get up and down the court. Next time you are watching a game watch the tempo of this team when he is on and off the court, it will make sense to you then.

Walker plays classic center - Smith plays a two-power forward game with no true center, circa 1995... One big reason that Walker doesn't play much is because he is not built to be a forward and he hasn't given up bring a center.
