It was a great season with a bummer of an end. Hopefully, all sides of the ball learned some valuable lessons for next year in this game as cold weather doesn't mean squat against other great teams. Not being able to stop them on third down was really the killer for today, even more than the offense sputtering at big times and the kicking game suddenly hitting the wall. They should be tough again next year, but they'll have to find replacements for Thielen and Hall-Oliver. As for Hoffner, I think most connected to MSU outside those who make the decisions believe he has served enough punishment for using his cell phone inappropriately. A very dumb move by the coach, but hardly worth being fired after everything came to light. Thanks for writing about a Southern Minnesota team Fulda Guy.

If every employee at Mankato who used a school cell phone personally is put on leave there won't be many left.

Leave it to Iowa....that stunt should have led to a forfeit.

Hoffner is done at MSU. University admin will not want him heading into the homes of recruits with the cloud and questions. Thanks to the Sheriff's department and the BE county prosecutors office, he'll need to move on.

Great season Mavericks considering the distractions. Attended the game and it was quite the atmosphere. Pretty neat when you can stand at the back of the end zone and video a goal line touchdown play at a DII national semifinal. Valdosta's WR's were beasts. Not to mention their O-line.
