Feeling typecast, Madam Secretary?

"You mean a man can be secretary of state?" my son said, sounding genuinely surprised.

The Big Three Cabinet positions (State, Defense, Treasury) should, indeed, go to the most qualified person. It's time to haul out the "binders full of women" qualified to handle the portfolios which come with all three positions. There's probably another Condoleeza Rice or Hillary Clinton who has a vision of smart economic policy and--after centuries of wars that don't settle anything--smart peace policies incorporating the Rice/Clinton emphasis on "food security, water management, global health, climate, energy security, technology, and empowering women and girls." Peace and development--what a concept! Almost as if there's a chance for civilization....
